Some greyhounds need more than love when their racing career is finished.
Cisco is a three year old boy who was racing grade "A" when he torn a ligament and dislocated a joint in his hock. An injury like this is very painful and ended his racing career. Heart Bound heard about him because he is a littermate to a dog in our group and wanted to help him. The injury was done in south Florida and although Heart Bound said they would take him it took another six weeks to get him on a hauler and up as far as Abilene, KS. After being unsuccessful in getting him to Wisconsin for another two to three weeks we decided to road trip to Abilene and just pick him up. Because of the seriousness of the injury he was taken to the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine where he had a four and one half hour surgery on his right rear hock. He will now be in two different casts for six to eight weeks and then he will need extensive therapy. He is a very sensitive dog and did not eat the four days he was in Madison but is now doing very well since getting home. The big challenge now for Heart Bound is paying his more then $3400 worth of vet bills. We need your help!
